The Boston Celtics are back to the place they were used to being, which is on top of the NBA.
They’re once again the winningest franchise in league history, hoisting their 18th championship.
Needless to say, with them being one of the most successful teams in the NBA, it would be safe to assume that their best player could be considered the face of the league.
And with most people agreeing with that, despite all the narratives and postseason woes, Jayson Tatum is their best player, one could make a case for him.
At least, that’s how Paul Pierce feels.
Talking to Kevin Garnett on their podcast, Pierce stated that if any of the young American players could handle that, it was definitely Jayson Tatum.
Jayson Tatum has an opportunity to be the face of the league.
Can he take the throne?

However, he also acknowledged that he’s always felt like there’s never been just ‘one’ face of the league.
Truth be told, Tatum could definitely be that guy on paper.
Nonetheless, some believe that the ship has sailed already.
While he’s still young and could still get better — which is a lot to say — most opposing team’s fans have already made up their minds about him, and the narrative around him is that he’s a bit of a choker.
Also, he’s not that vocal and doesn’t have as much charisma as, say, Ja Morant or Anthony Edwards.
