The Boston Celtics are the reigning NBA champions, and their value — which was already high — has soared over the past month or so.
That’s why it only made sense that one of their best players got his fair share of the revenue.
The Celtics just signed Jayson Tatum to a historical deal, giving him a $314 million supermax contract extension, the largest this game has ever seen.
However, it’s not like he hasn’t earned that.
In his recent appearance on 7 PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony and The Kid Mero, Kemba Walker shared his thoughts on Tatum.

The now-retired point guard claimed that Tatum was one of his absolute favorite people on Earth, praising his parents for the job they did at raising him.
He claimed that Tatum was absolutely deserving of that deal.
Walker knows what he’s talking about, as he played with him when he was younger and just making his way in the league.
Truth be told, the Celtics would’ve given Tatum that extension even if they had been swept out of the playoffs in the first round.
Despite the narratives about him, and even though some of the criticism has been fair, we’re still talking about one of the most talented players in the game, and he hasn’t even reached his prime yet.
Tatum just got over the hump and won his first NBA Championship.
Now, with that experience under his belt and devoided of the pressure that comes with playing for the Celtics, he should only get better now.
