The Boston Celtics won the franchise’s 18th title in the 2024 NBA Finals, and now get to watch three of their stars on the international stage in the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Jayson Tatum, Jrue Holiday and Derrick White are part of the 12-man roster and will have a chance to help Team USA capture its fifth-consecutive gold medal.

Tatum and Holiday were originally named as finalists to the roster, while White was a late addition after Kawhi Leonard opted to step down from the team.

Tatum and Holiday got plenty of run during the five-game exhibition slate and played well as Team USA swept the games.

However, in Team USA’s win against Serbia in their first game of pool play Tatum surprisingly didn’t see the floor.

Midway through the game, Tatum’s absence was notable and had fans talking via NBA Central.

“Steve Kerr has yet to play Jayson Tatum…”

As some noted, Kevin Durant’s return probably muddled up head coach Steve Kerr’s rotation, though it was still a little odd that Tatum didn’t see the floor at all.

Holiday and White were the primary point of attack defenders, while Durant seemingly took up all the backup forward minutes.

Aside from Tatum, Tyrese Haliburton was the only other player who didn’t see the floor.

It’s interesting that Tatum fell out of the rotation completely after a solid exhibition showing, though it’s too early to tell whether or not this will be the norm going forward.

Tatum is far too talented to be riding the pine, so he should see minutes at some point.
