On Wednesday, the NBA announced the members of its annual All-NBA teams, and as usual, some had some issues with who did and didn’t make the cut.
One notable omission was Jaylen Brown, the Boston Celtics star forward who is turning in another fine season.
Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla was asked about Brown not making an All-NBA team this year, and he said the star “knows what’s important and what’s not,” per NBC Sports Boston.

Brown averaged 23.0 points a game on a career-high 49.9 percent shooting in the regular season, which earned him his third All-Star bid in the last four years.
He was named to the All-NBA Second Team last year after putting up a career-best 26.6 points a game.
For the Celtics, a franchise that has won 17 NBA championships, individual accomplishments are nice, but what really matters is the Larry O’Brien Trophy, and perhaps Mazzulla’s comment indicated that Brown is focused on the grand prize.
In Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Tuesday, he came through in the clutch in a manner that could end up propelling his team to a world title.
For a good part of the second half, the Celtics looked to be in danger of losing to the Indiana Pacers, but with six seconds left in the fourth quarter, Brown hit a contested 3-pointer from the corner that sent the game into overtime, where Boston won, 133-128.
If Boston ends up winning it all, that shot from Brown could end up going down in Celtics lore.
