The 2024 Olympics have officially wrapped up.

These summer games went well for the United States, as they tied China for the most gold medals of any country, while also winning the overall medal count by a healthy margin.

While athletes had their fun in Paris, they will now focus on what’s ahead of them.

For NBA players, that renewed sense of focus is geared toward the 2024-2025 season, which begins in a few short months.

Team USA did win the gold in men’s basketball, and all of those players were filled with pride for their country.

However, that doesn’t mean that it was perfect, as Jayson Tatum, a superstar by NBA standards, didn’t see much playing time.

Tatum was somewhat vocal about his lack of playing time, but Kendrick Perkins took it to another level in a recent segment of “First Take.”

Perkins was seemingly frustrated with Tatum’s lack of time on the court, but he’s also excited to see what Tatum can do next season.

He said, “Jayson Tatum is going to come out on a mission this season. I believe that he’s going to win the MVP, I believe he believes he still has something to prove.”

Perkins understands what Tatum went through in Paris, but he doesn’t expect him to mope around, hoping another opportunity comes his way.

Instead, Perkins believes Tatum will do whatever possible to prove his doubters wrong and could also be in line for several individual awards if everything goes according to plan.
