Jayson Tatum didn’t play much during the 2024 Paris Olympics, but will he show up in 2028?
People aren’t so sure, especially after a recent statement.
Speaking on his show, Gilbert Arenas claimed that Tatum would say “hell no” to playing at the Los Angeles Olympics.

He stated that Tatum’s response to a question about playing for Team USA said it all.
When asked about sitting on the bench a lot in Paris, Tatum was honest and admitted that it was a “tough personal experience.”
He also said that 2028 is four years away and claimed he needs time to think about it.
To some people, this is proof that he won’t be back in 2028.
His indirect answer shows he is grappling with his trip to Paris and had a sincerely hard time being benched so often.
Team USA head coach Steve Kerr said he didn’t call on Tatum because of a “math” problem and the large amount of talent on the team.
Some fans don’t buy it and feel that Kerr had ulterior motives.
Regardless, the fact is that Tatum didn’t get a lot of minutes and even sat out of two games.
That was disappointing to the Boston Celtics star, especially because it came just months after he claimed his first NBA championship and proved he’s one of the biggest names in the league.
If you take Tatum’s words at face value, it is obvious that he’s considering all his options and thinking about the future.
But Arenas thinks that Tatum’s mind has been made up already.
