There has been a lot of worry about Jayson Tatum lately, as the Boston Celtics star hasn’t been performing at the level that some people expect from him.

Despite that, the Celtics now have a 3-1 lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers and are only one win away from returning to the Eastern Conference Finals.

On Tuesday’s “First Take,” Timothy Legler said that his concerns about Tatum aren’t entirely gone but it’s clear the Celtics icon is headed in the right direction.

Believe it or not, Tatum has scored exactly 33 points in the last two games against Cleveland.

He has shot 11-of-25 in both, which isn’t great compared to what he can usually do.

Beyond the numbers in the box score, a lot of people have been concerned with the level of Tatum’s aggressiveness during this series.

They feel he hasn’t been playing with the sort of passion, fire, and drive that are needed for the postseason.

However, Legler pointed out that the Celtics haven’t yet faced a team that really requires it.

They first took on the short-handed Miami Heat and are now facing the short-handed Cleveland Cavaliers.

While both of those teams are good and have scored wins, neither are on the same level as the Celtics.

If Boston squares off against a team that gives them some true competition, Tatum might flip a switch and play with more aggression.

Fans of the Celtics hope so because the team is doing very well and getting closer and closer to their ultimate goal of winning another title.

But if Tatum isn’t performing like the MVP candidate and definitive team leader he is their chances of claiming the Finals will slip away.
