Jaylen Brown and the Boston Celtics were showered in cheers and praise during their big championship parade on Friday.
It was a chance for the team to commemorate a special moment with fans and reflect on everything they did during the season.
For Brown, it was also a chance to honor a fallen Boston athlete.
According to NBA on ESPN, he held up a Terrence Clarke jersey during the parade.
Clarke was a young basketball player who was envisioned as the next great Boston NBA star before his life was tragically cut short in 2021, just months before the draft.
This isn’t the first time that Brown has referenced Clarke.
During the 2024 NBA Dunk Contest, Brown wore Clarke’s high school jersey.

The New England sports community was rocked by Clarke’s death back in 2021.
Great things were ahead for Clarke and the loss of his life and talent was incredibly tragic and greatly affected sports fans from that part of the country.
Brown has obviously kept a special place in his heart for Clarke and this latest gesture is the most touching yet.
Because of Brown’s actions, it was as if Clarke was at the parade and celebrating with everyone else.
Brown has had an amazing few weeks.
He played incredibly well during his team’s championship run, earned Finals MVP, and helped his team win their first title in years.
Now he is being cheered on as perhaps the most important part of the team and great things are expected for next season.
Brown has been enjoying all the celebrations that have come with winning his first ring but he’s obviously not forgetting a lost Boston star.
