The Boston Celtics just won the Finals and will technically be the best team in the NBA when the new season begins in the fall.
Therefore, it’s not surprising to hear they won’t be making many changes this summer.
Speaking to Justin Turpin and the press, Brad Stevens said he doesn’t “anticipate major changes, at least early on, because I think this team deserves that.”
So fans of the team shouldn’t expect the Celtics to be very busy in the offseason, and that is a good thing.
No surprise here from Brad Stevens:

Stevens made it clear that the team isn’t just going to rest and assume they don’t have to enter next season with fierce determination and purpose.
They claimed their 18th championship and are now the top team in the league.
That means that every other franchise will be attempting to take them down in 2024–25, and they will be the team to beat.
The competition will be harder in multiple ways next season, too.
Not only will everyone be eager to overcome the reigning champions, but the Eastern Conference likely won’t be as weak.
There will be multiple Eastern teams attempting to bulk up their rosters in the summer, adding more talent so they can compete against the Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks, and others.
Yet, Stevens is still certain that his team doesn’t have to do anything, at least not now.
That means the Celtics will start the season looking exactly as they are now.
But if things go wrong for some reason, there is a chance that Boston commits to changes so they can have a better chance of winning back-to-back championships.
