The Boston Celtics are walking on the clouds right now.
Joe Mazzulla’s team is sitting on the throne after 16 seasons without winning an NBA championship.
They clearly had the talent to pull this off for years now, as they had even been to the NBA Finals two years ago.
However, they needed more veterans and expected to get over the hump, as they often fell short of their goal in big moments.
A couple of weeks ago, Jayson Tatum revealed that the coach used to show them UFC fights to let them know just how fighters remained calm despite being choked out, which allowed them to get back on their feet and fight back.
Clearly, he’s a big fan of MMA and combat sports.
That’s why it only made sense that, now that he’s the reigning NBA Champion, he treated himself to the latest UFC fight.
As shown by NBA on ESPN on Twitter, Mazzulla was in attendance at the event with his family.

The big knock on this Celtics team was that they always lost games they were supposed to win, particularly when it came to the playoffs.
Needless to say, they put an end to that narrative during this postseason run, losing a grand total of 3 games along the way en route to their league-best 18th championship.
Hopefully, Mazzulla learned another life lesson or two from attending this fight, as he’ll now have to get his players ready to defend their title and championship belt.
