The San Antonio Spurs got a key young player to keep their rebuilding going.
Stephon Castle could have a major impact on Gregg Popovich’s team, provided that he develops a consistent jump shot.
Even if that’s not the case, he seems to be an NBA-ready defender and playmaker, and he’s the kind of player who can do a little bit of everything.
Considering that, it’s not much of a surprise to see that he’s made Jayson Tatum his favorite player.
Talking to SiriusXM NBA Radio for an interview, the Spurs rookie claimed that he loved the way Tatum had developed his all-around game (via ClutchPoints).
“He does so many different things on the court you can really put him anywhere.”

He praised him for being a much better playmaker at this point in his career, adding that he could play and guard multiple positions and that he liked versatile players.
For whatever reason, most fans around the league don’t seem to feel the same way about Tatum.
Despite him being one of the best scorers in the game, all people talked about his postseason shortcomings and how stacked his team was.
But even if some of the accusations against him seemed to be true, he continued to put in the hard work, and it paid off.
Tatum was huge in helping the Boston Celtics put an end to their NBA championship drought, and even though he’s been in the league for years now, he’s still a young player.
Now, he’s most likely going to become the highest-paid player in NBA history, and Castle will definitely love to follow those steps as well.
