The Boston Celtics are the team to beat in the NBA right now, and that’s going to continue to be the case until proven otherwise.

That’s why it’s not much of a surprise to see that they have three players on Team USA’s roster for the upcoming Olympics.

Contrary to what most people believed, USA Basketball didn’t reach out to Jaylen Brown to sub in for Kawhi Leonard.

Instead, they went after one of his teammates, Derrick White, who has officially arrived in Abu Dhabi to join the team (via USA Basketball).

Needless to say, White isn’t particularly the biggest name available, but he’s a perfect fit for what this roster needs.

He’s a guy who’ll play within his role and won’t hesitate to put his body on the line on both ends of the floor.

He can play some solid defense and guard multiple positions, and he’s an efficient three-point shooter who’s had a knack for knocking down timely shots.

Brown, however, didn’t take this snub lightly.

Despite not being the obvious replacement or an undisputed top-10 player, Brown believes that he was robbed of a spot.

Jayson Tatum didn’t want to dig deep into the reasons why Brown wasn’t called, simply stating that they had plenty of options to choose from.
