The Boston Celtics completed their 2024 NBA Playoff run with a dominant showing in the Finals when they beat the Dallas Mavericks in five games.
Boston had no problem running through the Eastern Conference and when they took on Dallas they made quick work of them and won convincingly in Game 5 on their home floor.
Jaylen Brown was named the 2024 NBA Finals MVP, but his teammate Jayson Tatum was the best player in the finale as he filled up the stat sheet en route to the win.
Tatum has done almost nothing but win games since he entered the league in 2017, and now has a championship ring to validate his claim as one of the best players in the league.
As the old guard in the league starts to phase out, Tatum has been pegged as one of the next faces of the NBA.
When asked about what it means to potentially be a face of the league, Tatum emphasized the need to keep winning via 7PM in Brooklyn.
“I want to be known as the next Bron and KD and how do you do that?” Tatum said. “How do you separate yourself? You win. You win a championship, you win multiple. So I knew that this is how I start to separate myself from whoever they think I’m in the same conversation as.”

The only way to stake a claim as one of the best players in the world is to win, and Tatum is on pace to do just that.
If Tatum and the Celtics can capture another title, then he’ll have ensured his standing.
