Jaylen Brown was in attendance at the NBA Summer League on Monday night and was immediately asked about his exclusion from Team USA.
Speaking to NBC Sports Boston, the champion spoke about not being selected for the American team in the Paris Olympics.
He said he was “not surprised” when he didn’t get the call to join Team USA but mentioned how happy he was for his teammate, Derrick White.
He also made it clear that he believes Nike has something to do with him missing out on Team USA and warned that “there will be more stuff to come with that.”

Brown didn’t hold back in this short interview.
He said he wasn’t surprised that he didn’t get a spot on Team USA after Kawhi Leonard stepped down due to injury.
The reason for that, Brown said, was his public criticisms of Nike.
Brown believes that Nike, the shoe company that has had a deep connection to Team USA for years, probably told the powers that be that Brown wasn’t an acceptable player for the Olympics.
He stated that more information about this theory would come to light soon, promising that the controversy swirling around him and Team USA would only continue.
Brown mentioned that he called White when his Celtics teammate was chosen to replace Leonard.
Despite his anger at Team USA and Nike, Brown is still very happy for White and wanted him to know that he doesn’t hold anything against him.
Brown also mentioned that this whole situation has him fired up, motivated, and ready to play hard in the new season.
That means his absence from Team USA might actually help the Celtics.
