The Boston Celtics are NBA champions after years of working hard, building a solid team, and remaining consistent.
Some people feel their path to the Finals last season was relatively easy because they faced multiple opponents who were short some of their best players due to injuries.
Boston head coach Joe Mazzulla is opening up about the playoffs and the toughest competition his team faced.
According to John Karalis, via Legion Hoops, Mazzulla said, “That Indiana series was by far the toughest series, and we swept them, but it should have went seven.”

It’s surprising to hear Mazzulla say the Indiana Pacers were the hardest team to get by on their way to the Finals.
As he mentioned, they swept the Pacers, who were without Tyrese Haliburton.
At the same time, it makes sense that he chose this team because, in many ways, the Pacers are like the Celtics.
They are a young, fast team that plays in a very similar fashion to the Celtics.
Even though Boston was able to make light work of them, they posed a particular challenge.
Mazzulla is surely afraid of the Pacers because they are a team that could get much better in the seasons ahead.
The Celtics beat them this time but there is no guarantee they will do it again, especially if Indiana is totally healthy.
The Pacers are hoping to get their revenge on the Celtics in the upcoming season.
They aren’t happy with the fact they got swept and they want to even the score.
Can they do that in 2024-25?
