After crushing the competition in the Eastern Conference through the first three rounds of the NBA playoffs, losing only two games before heading into the NBA Finals, the Boston Celtics were able to maintain that dominance against the Dallas Mavericks to win an NBA record 18th title.
Although the Celtics were blown out by Luka Doncic and company in Game 4, Boston made easy work of Dallas in this best-of-seven series, as Jason Kidd’s squad really didn’t stand a chance against what Joe Mazzulla and his coaching staff were throwing at them during the Finals.
With the Celtics being arguably the best all-around team in the NBA right now, led by two young stars, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, Boston could be the team to beat for many years to come.
Repeating as NBA champions is very much in play right now, with the Celtics likely being the favorite to win it all next season, which has players excited for what is to come, especially Xavier Tillman, who really enjoyed the parade experience.
Tillman understands why players want to win so badly after experiencing winning the title and seeing all the love the team got during the championship parade this week, which makes him want to repeat via Dan Roche of WBZ-TV.

With the Celtics being as dominant as they were with a talented young core, teams around the league will be making moves this summer in order to compete with Boston moving forward.
That said, it’ll be interesting to see what the league looks like heading into the 2024-25 campaign and whether the Celtics are still considered the team to beat.
