Jayson Tatum is now an NBA champion after his Boston Celtics beat the Dallas Mavericks in the Finals last month.
Yet, debate around him continues to rage.
Some people still claim that Tatum isn’t as good as he should be and needs to improve his game in multiple ways.
But on Tuesday’s “Undisputed,” Rachel Nichols said that Tatum isn’t only great, but he is actually on a career trajectory similar to a few basketball legends.
After Nichols spoke about all he did in the playoffs, she noted that the only people in NBA history who have scored as much as Tatum at this age are Lebron James, Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, Tracy McGrady, and Kobe Bryant.
She said that’s proof that Tatum is on track to have careers similar to James, Durant, and Bryant.

Nichols also showcased the fact that Tatum led his team in points, rebounds, and assists throughout the playoffs.
That is a shocking statistic made only more astonishing by the fact that he is only the sixth player in NBA history to do that.
If that doesn’t prove Tatum’s greatness, nothing does, according to Nichols.
For years now, people have said that Tatum needs to do more and prove more.
There have been numerous claims that he doesn’t lead his team well enough and doesn’t contribute when they need him most.
But the numbers prove otherwise.
The Celtics have several important players, such as Jaylen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis, Derrick White, and others.
However, no one can deny that Tatum is a crucial part of their success too.
If Tatum continues to play like this, he will accumulate more accolades like James, Durant, and Bryant, no matter what the critics say.
